35 Books Everyone Should Read in Their Lifetime

What a great list! I would love to add The Stand by Stephen King a classic good versus evil epic novel. What would you add to the list?

Books have the profound capacity to stay with us for the rest of our lives.

Whether they’re written for children, sci-fi lovers, mathematicians, or fiction aficionados, certain stories transcend their genre and should be read by everyone.

In a recent Reddit thread, users were asked what is a book that everyone needs to read at least once in their life?

Here are the top 35 books based on Reddit responses.

  1. Not the list I would have expected..so many Sci-Fi novels in there (that’s good !! I am a Sci-Fi nut) …one book I would put near the top of the list is ‘The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists ‘ by Robert Tressell (Robert Noonan) widely regarded as a classic of working-class literature and often referred to as the socialist’s bible…a book which will make you laugh, cry, get angry and be amazed at how relevant it still is today…first published in 1914.
